Treating Acne
What do you think is the most important element in your fight against acne? After all, there are several pieces to the “acne treatment and skin care puzzle.” Which one carries the most weight? Let’s run down a little check list shall we?
Acne Medication.
Is it acne medication? Well, that certainly is an important component. You must have some kind of acne treatment method, either prescription or non-prescription, that can go after the blackheads and pimples that keep erupting on your skin. And it must be one that works well with your skin, especially your face. Not too strong and not too weak – it has to do the job without doing-in your skin. Yes, acne medicine is important in your struggle to treat or cure acne but it does not guarantee you success all by itself.
Diet.
How about your diet? Certain foods are thought to cause acne breakouts, chocolate for one. So maybe you should give up all your “comfort foods” in favor of the traditional well-balanced diet. Maybe throw in aome special “acne vitamins” too? That probably couldn’t hurt because if your body is getting all of its necessary nutrients, it’s bound to help with the acne battle right? Well, that’s true. A strong body is certainly going to be helpful but even the strongest bodies suffer from acne blackheads and whiteheads. So even the best diet won’t help you get rid of your acne.
The truth is that we could walk our way down a long list of components that are important, even vital, in just about all acne solutions. We could talk about environmental elements or your personal hygiene habits. We could discuss the effects of your heredity or gender. We could even make a case for your emotional state and how much stress you might be experiencing. But in reality, the single most important factor in your success in treating your acne is this.
You must have perseverance.
That’s right; you must have a strong resolve to stay focused in your efforts to treat your acne. No matter what acne soap, acne medication, or acne system you end up using, it will not work unless it’s used consistently over a long period of time – at least weeks. That’s because the sebaceous glands in your skin will continue to create oil day and night for a long time – perhaps years and you’ll have to keep meeting them head on with your persistence. This could be one of the best acne tips you’ll ever learn.
It will take persistence to start and stay on a regimen because you won’t see real results from your acne treatment for perhaps weeks. At first you might even see an increase in your pimples because your medication is “speeding them up” so to speak. You’ll have to stick with it to work your way through that phase. Then, when many of the larger blemishes have run their course, you’ll begin to see longer and longer stretches between breakouts. That’s because you’re now attacking the small (even microscopic) clogs in your pores and your medication and cleansing methods are more effective against these – both facial acne and body acne.
But none of this will happen if you don’t persevere. You’ll have to stick with it even when you don’t want to. You’ll have to carry on even when it’s tough or inconvenient. And you’ll have to keep trying even though you’re not seeing any immediate results. If you can cultivate this one element, you can be successful in preventing acne.
